French croque monsieur with Poli
Ingredients
- 4 large slices of bread
- 250g Poli
- béchamel sauce
- 250g grated cheese: Camembert and blue Roquefort
- large knob of butter
FOR THE BÉCHAMEL SAUCE:
- 1 tbsp flour
- 200ml milk
- handful of grated Parmesan
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- pinch of nutmeg
- salt and pepper
French croque monsieur with Poli
Preparation process
- First, prepare the béchamel sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan over a low heat and adding the flour. Stir for a few minutes until the mixture is smooth, then pour in the milk. Stir constantly while heating to obtain a thick sauce with no lumps. Then add the Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, Dijon mustard and nutmeg.
- Preheat your oven to 190°C. Spread two slices of bread with béchamel sauce and lay on some slices of Poli. Add some cheese and close up your sandwiches.
- Melt a large piece of butter in a frying pan and fry the sandwiches on both sides until golden brown. Then transfer them to a baking tray. Spread the béchamel sauce over the top and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese. Bake the sandwiches in the oven until they have browned on top and the cheese has melted.
