German sandwich with Poli

Ingredients

  • Poli
  • green leaf lettuce
  • a hard-boiled egg
  • curry sauce
  • Emmental cheese

 

FOR THE BREAD ROLLS:

  • 500g plain flour
  • 10g salt
  • 5g sugar
  • 10g dried yeast
  • 300-400ml milk
  • 1l water
  • 3 tbsp bicarbonate of soda

German sandwich with Poli

Preparation process

  1. Knead the flour, salt, sugar, yeast and milk in a large bowl to form a dough. Cover with a cloth and leave to rise for one hour at room temperature.
  2. Knead the dough once more, divide it into six parts and shape into balls. Let them rise a little while you boil the water and bicarbonate of soda in a large pan. Reduce the heat, add the balls, and simmer them for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Transfer the balls to a baking tray lined with parchment paper, score the top of the balls, sprinkle with coarse salt and bake at 160°C for 30 minutes.
  4. Halve the slightly cooled rolls and place the cheese, lettuce, Poli, boiled egg and curry sauce inside.
